See how N-power scheme is being characterised by ghost worker

The N-power idea conceived by the government of president Muhamadu Buhari in 2015 was not to provide additional stream of income to those working already but to empower the rooming unemployed graduates in the country. Good as the ideas was, the unscrupulous individual in the system seems to have hijacked the process for personal gain. Just like what is happening in every government recruitment in the country where one must know someone that know a director who also know the recruitment officer before he/she can be recruited, the N-power scenario actually took that direction from inception without anyone suspecting that. If that is not the case, how come almost all the beneficiaries are existing workers either with the government or a private firms. This is now more clearer going by the way many of the beneficiaries are behaving towards the scheme.

The fact that the program was designed to empower Nigerians does not mean that you have to be receiving the stipend without doing any job. To the gratest surprise of the initiator (the government) and many concerned Nigerians, the program is under gross misconduct just like what is applicable in many government workplace where ghost worker is the order of the day.

The situation where one resides in Lagos but is working in Abuja which was formerly associated with only government job has croup-up into the scheme. 95% of these beneficiaries are ghost N-power workers. Some have never been to their place of assignment ever since they went there to signed their employment letter. Why this atrocities are going on in the scheme, several unemployed Nigerians are on the street looking for what will keep them busy for free.

The employers ( those in charge of the place of assignment), like what is applicable in the federal and state ministries are benefitting from this abnormality. Many of these employer knows about this unfortunate evil. Many of the employers dont even want these beneficiaries to come to their workplace because of what they are recovering from this people every month.

For the purpose of government to empower the unemployed graduates to be achieved, all hands must be on desk. Even if these sets of beneficiaries are not asked to go because of this dubious attitude towards the job they are to do, mechanism should be put in place should the scheme want to employ more people in the future. Those that are currently working should not be allowed to come into the system. This will make the scheme not to achieved the purpose of it's creation. These employers should also be made to provide job for these beneficiaries and stop Preventing the workers from coming to work in order to gain financial benefits from them at the end of every month. The government that initiated this lauderdale scheme must not closed its eyes from it's activities to ensure that the desire result is achieved. The said employers must stopped sabotaging the efforts of the government to reduce unemployment through empowerment of the citizens. The beneficiaries themselves must not throw their integrity to the dog. They can only be celebrated when those who have secure a job come out to inform the government of such development since that will open doors for other unemployed youths in the country. To reduce unemployment in the country is not the responsibility of the government alone but that of all and sundry.
