Chairman of the Northern Governor's forum leads by example on lockdown policy.
Leading by example could either be a positive or a negative one.
Following the happenings surrounding the lockdown imposition, where the chairman of the Northern Governors Forum, NGF, Simon Bako Lalong of plateau state, at their meeting held on 13 April, 2020. Said that northern region agreed on no lockdown policy, because of the nature of activities and lifestyle of people in the northern region.
Today, it was in anticipation that the citezens of plateau state awaited the relaxation of the 24 hours lockdown, which is suppose to end at twelve midnight today. But this hope was dashed by the Governor's address today 15 april, 2020.
In what one may be tempted to say a bad leadership example, where what the chairman said is a policy the NGF have adopted, is the same person that continue leading in the opposite direction.
If this policy was to draw the attention of the federal government, FG, and this same states are doing the direct opposite, this could be sending a wrong signal to the FG, and the aim of the no lockdown policy is deafeated.
What u think the chairman of the NGF owe his colleagues is an apology and moreso, it should be a matter of implementation of agreed policy. As we all know the saying " divided we fall, united we stand". This is a time they should agree and work as a team, rather than everyone doing their own thing as they deem fit in their individual states.
